PROSPER FAGER Winner: SHOW READY
(12/28) In Aqueduct's six-furlong Wednesday nightcap, a restricted N1X allowance optional claiming contest for fillies and mares, Marty Cunningham's and Eugene Hauman's SHOW READY scored a decisive front-running victory and was promptly claimed for $30,000 by trainer Dominick Schettino on behalf of new owner Joseph Parisi. It was the third winning ride of the day -- and second aboard a New York-bred filly -- for apprentice jockey Kyle Kaenel, who rides with a five-pound allowance and had booted Show Ready to victory 25 days earlier at Aqueduct when the four-year-old filly also ran with a $30,000 tag. Wednesday's nightcap score marked Show Ready's best six-furlong time of her career (1:10.30), and it increased her earnings by $27,000 to $240,522 while improving her record to 9 - 5 - 5 in 35 starts. Since being claimed by Cunningham and Hauman for $20,000 at Belmont on September 23, Show Ready has earned $60,400. Conditioned during that period by New York Thoroughbred Breeders (NYTB) 2000 Trainer of the Year Michael Hushion, Show Ready was bred by the Flying Zee Stables of Carl Lizza Jr. of Wharton, New Jersey, which qualified for a $5,400 breeder award. She was conceived and foaled at Highcliff Farm in Delanson that Lizza owns in partnership with Joseph Bartone and also where her now-deceased sire, Prosper Fager, had stood, qualifying Prosper Fager's former owners, The Billings Partnership of Robert and Michele Billings of Naples, Florida, for a $1,890 stallion award. The former $13,000 purchase at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2003 June sale of two-year-olds in training in Florida has now been claimed five times. Show Ready is the first winner produced from Pilfer Proof, who is by Gate Dancer and out of six-time stakes winner Tri Bowl ($205,221).

KEY CONTENDER Winner: KEY TO SUSAN
(12/14) KEY TO SUSAN broke her maiden in first start defeating a field of state-bred two year-old fillies going six-furlongs over the inner-track. Owned by the partnership of Force Five Stable and Joseph Imperio, who also bred the bay filly, Key to Susan is by Key Contender and is out of the three-time winning route winner Gateholme, by Gate Dancer.
Key to Susan was bred by Dr. Carl Juul Nielsen, who qualifies for a $4,920 breeder's award. Key Contender stands at Highcliff Farm in Delanson, N.Y.

WESTERN EXPRESSION Winner: SIDEWAYS GLANCE
(12/14) New York-breds SIDEWAYS GLANCE and You Willgo Broke finished first and second in an open claimer ($50,000 - $40,000) to start off the Wednesday card at Aqueduct Racetrack. Raced over the inner track at six-furlongs, a field of eight three-year-olds went to the post with temperatures dipping down to 26-degrees. Ridden by Channing Hill for trainer Frank Martin, the chestnut gelding notched his third career victory and pushed his lifetime earnings above the century mark to $109,445 in 18-career starts.
Trained by Frank Martin, Sideways Glance is bred and owned by Carl Lizza, Jr.'s Flying Zee Stable, who qualified for an open owner's award of $3,680 and a breeder's award of $3,680. Sideways Glance is by Western Expression, and is out of the winning Citidancer mare, Heavenly Glance. The sire, Western Expression, stands at Highcliff Farm in Delanson, N.Y.

FOREVER SILVER Winner: PREMINGER

PREMINGER
(12/10) Preminger goes gate to wire in 2-turn allowance
Scoring his first two-turn victory by leading at every call, Chevalier Stable's homebred PREMINGER captured a restricted N1X allowance for three-year-olds and up going a mile and 70 yards, winning as the 1.45-to-1 favorite among 10 starters while carrying co-topweight. The three-year-old gelding was race-ridden for the sixth time -- fifth consecutive -- by jockey Eibar Coa, who had four winning rides on Aqueduct's Saturday card and has now piloted Preminger to two NYRA victories within 55 days. The front-running tally increased the gray/roan's earnings by $26,400 to $59,216 while improving his record to 2 - 2 - 0 in nine starts and qualified his owner-breeder, the Chevalier Stable of Edward and Joanne Shapoff of Pelham, for an additional $5,280 breeder award. Preminger was the second New York-bred winner sent out at Aqueduct on Saturday by trainer Bruce Levine, who had given the gelding two solid half-mile workouts over Belmont's training track following a bumped second-place effort 27 days earlier against open Aqueduct company with a $35,000 claiming price. For jockey Coa, it was the third of four winning rides for the day. Preminger's effort qualified the syndicate connections of recently-deceased Grade 1-winning millionaire Forever Silver -- who was standing at Carl Lizza Jr.'s and Joseph Bartone's Highcliff Farm in Delanson at the time of Preminger's conception -- for a $1,848 stallion award. Preminger is the first offspring produced from Margin for Error, who is by the late New York stallion Dixie Brass and is a full sister to stakes-placed winner Clear Margins ($116,487).
