(1/6/07) Graded Performance for Leading Money
Earner by TALK IS MONEY
High Finance, purchased by West Point Thoroughbreds
in 2006, ran second in the Grade III Mr. Prospector Handicap
at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. The six-furlong event was run
in 1:08.84, about 2/5ths off the track record of 1:08.46 set last
year. Multiple Graded stakes winner and track record setter Kelly's
Landing took the lead at the turn to prevail. High Finance chased
the pace along the rail, had trouble getting through tight quarters
inside Weigelia in the stretch, finally getting through to be
up for second 1 1/4 lengths behind the winner.
TALK IS MONEY, relocated to Highcliff for
the 2007 season from Kentucky, stands for $5,000 live foal. By
Deputy Minister out of the Gone West mare, Isle Go West, a half-sister
to HENNESSY. TALK IS MONEY's first foals are four-year-olds and
he has four stakes horses from that crop: HIGH FINANCE,
BLAZING SUNSET, GRANDMA W. and MONEY CODE.
TALK IS MONEY's third crop are now two-year-olds
and include a $250,000 July yearling.
